Artificial Intelligence in Teacher Education: Opportunities and Challenges

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most influential technologies transforming education systems across the world. In teacher education, AI provides innovative opportunities for improving teaching practices, enhancing personalized learning, and supporting professional development. AI-powered tools such as intelligent tutoring systems, learning analytics, and automated assessment enable teacher trainees to develop advanced pedagogical skills and improve instructional effectiveness. However, the integration of AI in teacher education also presents several challenges, including ethical concerns, lack of technological infrastructure, insufficient teacher training, and issues related to data privacy. This paper examines the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of Artificial Intelligence in teacher education and highlights the need for responsible and balanced implementation to enhance the quality of teacher preparation programs.
